Vault Private Equity acquired a minority position in Longbow Motorcar, a U.K-based startup set to launch the first lightweight electric sports cars in the U.K. with deliveries starting in 2026. The company was founded by former senior employees of Tesla, Lucid, BYD, Lotus, Xshore – Daniel Davey, Mark Tapscott and Jenny Keisu.
Why did Longbow stand out in the EV market? The team has had hands-on experience in: (i) the first Tesla Roadster; (ii) the most technologically advanced EV (Lucid); and (iii) the most efficient (BYD) EV manufacturing. Add the wider industry experience in this blend and the novel, cap-ex light manor in which Longbow will be delivering an affordable lightweight EV sports car for drivers are unparalleled. Also, the go-to-market for Longbow is timely. When delivered, it will be virtually the only player in its class of electric vehicles.
We partnered with Longbow because they are building something that resonates with how we run Vault – in a lean and flexible way, focused on execution. Longbow is a company that strips away what doesn’t matter – and sharpens what does: the thrill of driving, the purity of performance, and the practicality of owning an EV that’s efficient.
This participation was acquired in cooperation with Vault Services, which will continue providing strategic advisory services to Longbow and its board. “We engaged Vault Services to ensure we focus our energy on delivery of our business plan, while Vault Services support execution and in-house affairs” – says the CEO of Longbow.
About Vault PE
Vault Private Equity (Vault PE) is an independent arm of Vault Group, which acquires minority stakes in growth companies and matured startups. Vault PE has a predominant interest in data center infrastructure, FinTech, tech automotive, health-tech and nutrition, food security, energy security, and real estate.
One of its co-founders, Nicola Mariani marked Vault PE’s launch with a note which well describes our vision: “In my 25 years’ experience as a partner in major law firms and CLO in large corporations, a remarkable tendency has emerged in the last few years: clients want their senior advisors to have skin in the game. They no longer accept just a good “legal guy” or good “numbers guy”. This is why we launched Vault PE to run hand in hand with Vault Services”.
